NIETS visited O-NET test field for grade 6 students in the 2022 academic year at Sainamtip School.

Director of National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) (Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D.) and Acting Director of Bureau of Educational Testing, (Chanatip Tuipae, Ph.D.), Director of Bangkok Primary Education Service Area Office (Pichet Wanthong, Ph.D.) and team visited O-NET test field for grade 6 students in the 2022 academic year at Sainamtip School with a school director and teachers’ welcoming on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

For O-NET in the 2022 academic year, there were 645,632 students who sat for the test.
At Sainamtip School, there were 105 students who sat for the O-NET. Also, NIETS conducted
O-NET with digital system for grade 6 students in 4 testing fields, 5 exam rooms and 98 test takers. The test takers are 12 students from Nongkhame Border Patrol Police Schools in Chiang Mai,
35 students from Cognis-Thai Border Patrol Police Schools in Sakonnakhon, 20 students from Ban Chai Khuan Border Patrol Police Schools and 31 students from Naresuan Palau Border Patrol Police Schools in Prachuap Khiri Khan.

The O-NET for grade 6 students covers 4 subjects which are Mathematics, Science, English and Thai language. The test of Thai language comprises 2 essay type questions, which are writing based on a provided picture and summarizing the main idea of a text. After O-NET test results are announced, NIETS will collect information from students’ answers in Thai language essay writing and make a report of findings on O-NET in Thai language so that students, teachers, school administrators and interested people can use this report for teaching and learning development.

NIETS arranged “The utilization of O-NET for teaching and learning development” project.
Schools can apply for the project by going to http://utilizationonet.neits.or.th/ and use the O-NET results for lesson plans, teachers training, and teaching development. 

Moreover, NIETS provided a digital testing system in order to use the result for learning improvement. For those who may interest, they can access the digital testing either anytime or from anywhere to practice a standard test and the users will know their strengths and weaknesses, so they can enhance their learning plan.

NIETS scheduled the announcement of O-NET result on 29 March 2023 on website (www.niets.or.th). Furthermore, NIETS makes students O-NET report card for self-assessment while schools can use it to improve teaching quality.
