NIETS conducted an online explication meeting with B-NET coordination testing centers for B-NET testing using the digital testing system.

On July 3, 2024, the National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization), or NIETS, conducted the working team meeting at the coordination testing center level of the Buddhist National Educational Test (B-NET) in the academic year 2024. The participants were the representatives from the National Office of Buddhism, the president of the Office of General Buddhist Education, and their official officers from 12 areas.

Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D, the director of NIETS assigned the deputy director (Warunee  Liewwiwatchai, Ph.D) to open the online conference and state the objectives of B-NET testing, the summary of B-NET testing operations in the last year, the preparatory work for B-NET testing in the academic year 2024 using the digital testing system. This year, NIETS has adjusted the format of testing at the secondary and high school education levels. It provides one copy of the test for each level, consisting of 100 questions about the Pali language subject, the code of monastic disciplines, dharma, and the biography of Lord Buddha. Each level has 2 hours for doing the test, and for more information on the test blueprint, please visit the official website. Furthermore, there was a summary of B-NET testing results during the academic year 2021 – 2023, which was classified by subject and education level. On this occasion, NIETS appreciated the coordination testing centers for B-NET testing collaboration last year with well-organized operation according to the standards of national education testing.

The chief of testing administration and center network division (Mr.Pattana Thanakorn) stated the objectives of the meeting, consisting of (1) the summary of B-NET testing operations in the academic year 2023; (2) the explanation of policy, procedure, and guidelines related to testing operations in the academic year 2024; (3) a hearing session for related suggestions from participants, including the introduction of testing management usability. Furthermore, there was an announcement of the B-NET testing schedule for the academic year 2024, which will start testing on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Whereas NIETS clarified the operational schedule of  B-NET testing management via the digital system, duties and working flows, guidelines for operation in cases, and relevant documents. The academic testing management officer (Mrs.Kanjana Phuangchit) introduced the report of B-NET testing results of students in personnel and the analysis of testing results of education institutes issued no. 1-6, categorized by subject, in order to provide students with self-development from results application usage, and the education institutes used information about testing results for upgrading teaching and learning management in each subject. Furthermore, she advised the system used for B-NET testing management by the digital system, student information data delivery, the guidelines for examination hall arrangement, and finally the session for participants’ discussion and comments.
