NIETS had the meeting for NIETS testing center representatives of grade 6 and grade 9 for O-NET academic year 2019 at Khon Kaen Province.

The National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) (NIETS) had the meeting for NIETS testing center representatives of grade 6 and grade 9 for O-NET academic year 2019 at the Charoen Thani hotel, Khon Kaen on Wednesday 26^th June 2019. 50 participants in the meeting were Director of Provincial Education Office, representatives from Primary and Secondary Educational Service Area Office, four provinces of Northeast; Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, and Roi Et Province.

Asst.Prof. Sirida  Burachat, Ph.D., the director of NIETS spoke on raising education quality in accordance with policies of the Ministry of Education, direction for educational measurement and evaluation into education reform, use of O-NET score results for enhancing learning achievement, and developing network of test administering. She emphasized on strictly enforcing rules and regulations as well as conducting oneself according to the manual of administering national examination to prevent any controversy of testing administration. Following the instruction in the manual would increase the public confidence toward the organization (transparency), and standard should be held the same throughout all testing centers according to practice guideline procedure about testing standards in B.E.2557 (A.D. 2014). NIETS also gave an opportunity to public in sharing such comments and feedbacks for improvement via four channels as followed: (1) directly line to executive (2) by post/mail (3) email: testing@niets.or.th and (4) call center +662-217-3800

The tentative schedule of O-NET for the academic year 2019 for grade 6 will be held on 1^st February 2020 (test result announcement on 25th March 2019), for grade 9 will be held on 1^st-2^nd February 2020 (test result announcement on 26th March 2020), and for grade 12 will be held on 29^th February – 1^st March 2020 (test result announcement on 27^th March 2020). Mr. Patana Thanakorn, Head of Testing Administration Department, gave a brief overview of O-NET in the previous year and prepare administering for O-NET academic year 2019 by supervise testing centers and testing fields implementing in accordance with work schedule such as schools should send students’ information via O-NET system during 1^st July – 31^st August 2019, testing centers provide testing field and testing room via O-NET system during 1^st July – 30^th September 2019, schools should inform increase or decrease student list via O-NET system during 10^th – 31^st October 2019, test register for grade 6 and grade 9 will held on 1^st – 15^th October 2019, and test register for grade 12 will held on 1^st – 15^th November 2019. And she reemphasized how important it is for all testing centers staff to monitor testing fields and schools to strictly follow the regulation of testing administering in 2014 (B.E. 2557).

In addition, he also invite them who interested to participate the human resource development project in terms of testing for head of testing field, committee and investigator, which aimed to (1) aware the importance of administering tests and testing administration standard, (2) have knowledge and understand well as the standards of NIETS mentioned, (3) develop their skills to increase testing administration standard, and (4) was guaranteed potential for administering tests.
