The National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) (NIETS) had the meeting for NIETS testing center representatives of grade 6 and grade 9 for O-NET academic year 2019 at the Diamond Plaza hotel, Suratthani province on Thursday 4th July 2019. 52 participants in the meeting were president of testing center, director, school supervisor, working group of Provincial and Local Education Office, representatives from Primary and Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Office of the Private Education Commission, seven provinces of Southern; Krabi, Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phang Nga, Phuket, Ranong, and Suratthani province.
Asst.Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D., the director of NIETS recommended to use of O-NET score results to develop the method of teaching and learning in order to enhance learning achievement including publicize analysis result of O-NET in the previous year. NIETS also advertise schools and students enter to our website to download example of answer sheet in each subjects in order to study and trial this useful information in improving methods of teaching and learning in classroom. The tentative schedule of O-NET for the academic year 2019 for grade 6 will be held on 1st February 2020 (test result announcement on 25th March 2019), for grade 9 will be held on 1st-2nd February 2020 (test result announcement on 26th March 2020), and for grade 12 will be held on 29th February – 1st March 2020 (test result announcement on 27th March 2020). Before testing will be held, NIETS has publicized useful information such as test blueprint, test item samples, format and numbers of items in each subject, and answer sheet sample on our website at www.niets.or.th
Mr. Patana Thanakorn, Head of Testing Administration Department, gave a brief overview of O-NET in the previous year and prepare administering for O-NET academic year 2019. He reemphasized all staff administering the test is to strictly follow the rule and regulation of NIETS in the manual.
