The National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) (NIETS) had the meeting for NIETS testing center representatives of grade 6 and grade 9 for O-NET academic year 2019 at the Sunee grand hotel & convention center, Ubon Ratchathani province on Tuesday 9th July 2019. 45 participants in the meeting were Director of Provincial Education Office and Local Education Office, representatives from Primary and Secondary Educational Service Area Office, five provinces of Northeast; Mukdahan, Yasothon, Sisaket, Amnat Charoen, and Ubon Ratchathani Province.

Asst.Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D., the director of NIETS spoke on the standardization of O-NET which emphasized on the five standards of NIETS: they are 1) test administration standard, 2) testing personnel standard, 3) test development standard, 4) test printing standard, and 5) test report and test result standard. She also recommended the participants to use of O-NET score results for any practical purposes in enhancing education quality and developing learning achievement. In the last session, attendees had an opportunity to share their concerns and suggestions.

Mr. Patana Thanakorn, Head of Testing Administration Department spoke on objective of conducted I-NET meeting of grade 6 and grade 9 were to gave an overview of I-NET in the previous year and to prepare administering for O-NET academic year 2019 by reemphasized NIETS testing center representatives (1) set up working group and provide meeting, (2) inform the work schedule to schools, (3) supervise, follow up about sending the students’ information and conduct testing fields/test room, and (4) all staffs should administer in accordance with O-NET tentative schedule.
The tentative schedule of O-NET for the academic year 2019 for grade 6 will be held on 1st February 2020 (test result announcement on 25th March 2019), for grade 9 will be held on 1st-2nd February 2020 (test result announcement on 26th March 2020), and for grade 12 will be held on 29th February – 1st March 2020 (test result announcement on 27th March 2020). Before testing will be held, NIETS has publicized useful information such as test blueprint, test item samples, format and numbers of items in each subject, and answer sheet sample on our website at www.niets.or.th
