At 5:27 p.m. on Monday (Aug 19), Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has presided over the opening of museum of education at Ratchawanlop building of Chantharakasem Palace, Ministry of Education (MOE), which led by Mr.Nataphol Teepsuwan (Minister of Education), Dr. Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanic, Ph.D. (Deputy Minister of Education), Mrs.Kanokwan Wilawan (Deputy Minister of Education) together with other executives and officials greet to welcome her.

Minister of Education, Mr.Nataphol Teepsuwan, presented the history of Chantharakasem Palace, Ratchawanlop building of Ministry of Education (MOE) which is Rama V’s palace in the past and gave to His Majesty King Vajiravudh (Rama IV) as pavilion. In initiative period to build this Palace, the King Rama V died then the King Rama VI decided to generate this palace as school of culinary arts, hospital for civil servants and Performing Arts Department. Next, the King Rama VIII gave this palace for public service to be Ministry of Education in the present.

In 2016 A.D., MOE found that Ratchawanlop building are deteriorated. So, MOE decided to renovation and conservation of Ratchawanlop building which was implemented by many sectors that led by Khunying Budtree Weewitaya (president of King Vajiravudh Memorial Foundation under Royal Patronage) is president together with The Crown Property Bureau, The Fine Arts Department, Vajiravugh College, The Government Lottery Office, including others private companies that have good faith to donate like SCG foundation, King power Duty Free Co., Ltd., Government Saving Bank, Krung Thai Bank Public Co.,Ltd., Charoen Pokphand Foundation, Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation, and Ritta Co.,Ltd.

Currently, Ratchawanlop building has renovated and conserved finished. This building consisted of 1) museum of Thai education, which is learning resource about Thai educational history since Sukhothai era to the present, 2) studio room for Minister of Education, 3) studio room for Permanent Secretary, 4) studio room for Deputy Permanent Secretary, 5) studio room for Assistant Permanent Secretary, 6) meetings room.

Permanent Secretary of MOE, Mr.Karoon Skoonpradit, invited 18 person who support to renovate and conserve this building to get shield and commemorative certificates from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Then, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn plant the Sirindhorn White Champaka, see around within this building and then she back to her palace at 7:22 pm.

The museum of education at Ministry of Education is opened every Monday – Friday between 8.00 – 16.30, except on public holiday. Admission charge is free for general public.
