Changing the exam dates of grade 12 O-NET and Common Subjects in General Science.

Students’ request, the exam dates should be postponed. These include the GAT / PAT exam dates on 20th – 23rd March 2021 coinciding with the final exam of the 2020 school years. Grade 12 O-NET will hold on 27th – 28th March 2021 coinciding with the election day of municipal council and mayor, and Common Subjects on 3rd – 4th April 2021, coinciding with the date of military conscription.
The National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) (NIETS) informed TCAS, Thai University Central Admission System, defined by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand with operations related to many departments, such as the various universities, the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) and NIETS. The defining steps, from the recruitment period, exam date, examination result announcement, utilization of the exam results and other related steps, must be conducted in accordance with the admission to university. Then, NIETS clarified on the duties and authority about GAT / PAT and Common Subjects that NIETS was assigned by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand which they set exam dates and timelines for the test periods of use of the score, teaching and learning management and other suitability in accordance with the academic year. Changing the exam dates therefore, it impacts on such procedures and conditions as well.
For the test management during this COVID-19 situation, NIETS has prepared various measures in order to prevent the epidemic of COVID-19 in accordance with the measures set by the public health agencies. In addition, it has also discussed actionable guidelines on the GAT / PAT exam and Common Subjects which supported by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand.
And for the exam day for Common Subjects will be hold on 3 - 4 April 2021, corresponds to the military conscription between April 1st – 20th, 2021, NIETS is responsible for testing administration which assigned by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand then postponing the GAT / PAT exam date and Common Subjects of the NIETS must be considered with the Council of University Presidents of Thailand, an agency that have to use the results of the examination in the admission to university.
Grade 12 O-NET exam date will be hold on March 27th – 28th, 2021, coinciding with the election day of municipal council and the mayor on Sunday March 28th, 2021. So, NIETS Board organized the 2nd meeting on February 25, 2021, the importance of voting in accordance with the Thai democracy system was considered to encourage the participation for exercise of the voting rights. Grade 6 students can also take the O-NET exam as well which is still within the scope of NIETS that will manage test according to national educational testing standards can be effectively. Therefore, it deemed appropriate to postpone the test schedule grade 6 O-NET academic year 2020, which is scheduled on March 28th-29th, 2021 with exam time, course code and duration according to the original exam schedule.
