The National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) (NIETS) had the 2nd meeting for NIETS testing center representatives’ preparation of grade 6 and grade 9 O-NET academic year 2021 during 16th – 17th December 2021 via Zoom Meeting. The participants were 324 representatives of the Primary Educational Service Area Office, and Secondary Educational Service Area Office, the Provincial Education Office, Bangkok Office of Education and the Office of Education in Pattaya City.

Warunee Liewwiwatchai, Ph.D., NIETS Deputy Director, welcomed the participants and said the testing administration for grade 6 and grade 9 O-NET academic year 2021 under the COVID-19 pandemic and testing administration for Thai language subject with a subjective test format. NIETS has publicized useful information such as test blueprint, test item samples, format and numbers of items in each subject on our website at www.niets.or.th.

Mr. Patana Thanakorn, Head of Testing Administration and Center Network Division, mentioned the preparation for O-NET test grade 6 and grade 9 for the academic year 2021 and informed the working calendar, measures for conducting the testing in the situation of COVID-19 pandemic, rooms organizing, testing administration of Thai language subjects with a subjective examination format, appointing committees at the testing field level, the role of the testing field and testing center representatives and managing the testing in various cases.
Therefore, He emphasized that all testing centers, testing fields, and proctors had to strictly comply with the measures to prevent the epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and O-NET management manual as well. In the last part of the meeting, NIETS also gave an opportunity to participants in asking questions, sharing such idea and giving feedbacks.
O-NET test schedules academic year 2021 are as followed: grade 6 is on 12nd February 2022 (test result announcement on March, 24th 2022), for grade 9 will be on 13rd February 2022 (test result announcement on March, 25th 2022), and for grade 12 will be on 26th - 27th March 2022 (test result announcement on March, 28th 2022).
