Visit to site for the testing field for the Teacher’s Professional Competencies Testing and Assessment (the 1st/2022) at Santiratwitthayarai school

The Secretarial of the Teachers’ Council of Thailand assigned the National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) or NIETS to conduct the 1st Teacher’s Professional Competencies Testing and Assessment in terms of knowledge and experience, based on teacher professional standards in year 2022. The application period for the test is January 19-30, 2022 while the exam date is February 18-19, 2022. There are 29 testing fields in 11 provinces.

On Friday 18th  February, 2022, Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D, the Director of National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) welcomed and reported a summary of the 1st  Professional Testing and Assessment under the profession standards in year 2022 to Asst. Prof. Prawit Erawan, Ph.D, the Secretary General of the Office of the Teacher Civil Service and Educational Personnel Commission, Acting Secretary-General to Khurusapha,  Assoc. Prof. Ekachai Keesookpun, Ph.D., Chairperson of the Professional Standard Committee, Professor Pruet Siribanpitak, Ph.D. and team at Santiratwitthayarai school with the school director (Ms. Thanjira Chotpongkul) and teachers’ welcoming.

The testing and assessment is scheduled on February 18-19, 2022. The dates and times of examination are as following:

Teaching Profession

There are 36,177 test-takers which are 36,075 Thais and 102 foreigners.

In order to conduct this professional testing, NIETS facilitates some test-takers requiring special assistance, e.g. pregnant woman, monk or people with disabilities by arranging seats for attending the test appropriately. In case of 13 visual impaired test-takers, NIETS prepared large print paper test for those who have low vision, so they, themselves, are able to blacken the correct option circles on the answer sheets. For the visual impaired (blind) test-takers NIETS has reader assistant in reading questions and blacken on the answer sheet for them. Anyway, there are 2 parts in Teaching profession test, multiple choices and short answers/ essay test. NIETS provides Braille answer sheets for the test-takers, as well.

At Santiratwitthayarai school, there are 1,362 test-takers and 55 exam rooms. There are 25 test-takers in each room, but there are no foreigners. Besides, there are 10 test-takers requiring special assistance (2 pregnant women, 3 monks, 3 visual impaired persons and 2 persons with disabilities).

NIETS conducted the professional testing during COVID-19 situation by following the preventive measure according to the Ministry of Health and Provincial Public Health strictly. Additionally, NIETS sent a letter to the Ministry of Health, governors, Provincial Public Health and else.

Test-takers and staff at the testing fields must follow rules and preventive measures against the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 issued by the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration and measures for prevention guided in each province as well as follow an announcement from NIETS about protective measures against the spread of covid-19 in the educational testing strictly.

The test result will be announced on 31st March, 2022 via www.niets.or.th and www.ksp.or.th
