NIETS organized a meeting with corporation centers and testing fields to prepare O-NET with Digital Testing for grade 12 students in the 2022 academic year.
On 9-12 January 2023, National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) organized a meeting to clarify a preparation for O-NET with Digital Testing for grade 12 students in the 2022 academic year. There were 62 Secondary Educational Service Area Offices, which are responsible for O-NET cooperation and all testing fields and they were divided into 8 groups to attend in a Zoom meeting.
The 1st group (Secondary Educational Service Area Office Bangkok 1 and Secondary Educational Service Area Office Bangkok 2) attended the meeting at 9.30 AM on 9 January 2023.
The 2nd group (Nonthaburi, Pathumthani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Chachoengsao, Nakorn Pathom, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya) attended the meeting at 1.30 PM on 9 January 2023.
The 3rd group (Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Sa Kaeo, Prachinburi, Nakhon Nayok, Lopburi, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Sawan) attended the meeting at 9.30 AM on 10 January 2023.
The 4th group (Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Bueng Kan, Buriram, Kalasin, Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen) attended the meeting at 1.30 PM on 10 January 2023.
The 5th group (Sakon Nakhon, Surin, Sisaket, Yasothon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen) attended the meeting at 9.30 AM on 11 January 2023.
The 6th group (Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Tak, Kanchanaburi, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet) attended the meeting at 1.30 PM on 11 January 2023.
The 7th group (Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Nan, Pichit, Mae Hong Son, Phetchabun, Phrae, Phayao, Lampang, Lamphun, Phitsanulok, Uttaradit) attended the meeting at 9.30 AM on 12 January 2023.
The 8th group (Surat Thani, Chumphon, Songkhla, Satun, Phatthalung, Phang Nga, Phuket, Ranong, Trang, Krabi, Narathiwat, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Yala, Pattani) attended the meeting at 1.30 PM on 12 January 2023.
NIETS Deputy Director (Warunee Liewwiwatchai, Ph.D.) delivered welcoming speech and stated that O-NET for grade 12 students was transitioned from paper pencil testing to digital testing. To prepare the O-NET, NIETS arranged this meeting to inform schedules, work calendar, guidelines and procedures for conducting the digital testing. NIETS was appreciated all testing centers’ cooperation in which the test will be conducted effectively. She also requested every sections to follow national educational testing standard in order to arrange the test.
Chief of Testing Administration and Center Network Division (Mr. Pattana Thanakorn) mentioned 4 main points about preparation in O-NET with Digital Testing for grade 12 students which are Digital Testing conduction, responsibilities and instruction in testing fields, testing documents and system and regulations in different cases. In addition, O-NET with Digital Testing for grade 12 students in the 2022 academic year was divided into 4 rounds (1 round will be covered 2 exam days). The 1st round was on 25-26 February 2023, the 2nd round was on 27-28 February 2023, the 3rd round was on 1-2 March 2023 and the 4th round was on 3-4 March 2023. Moreover, the testing field committees were required to download electronics handbook to conduct O-NET and Digital Testing system created by NIETS to review procedures. The electronics handbook was uploaded on www.niets.or.th and schools that submitted students’ name list for O-NET attendance shall advise their students to watch video about digital testing posted on NIETS website so that they can be prepared themselves for the O-NET.
Mr.Jirawit Temram, a computer technical officer who is in charge of Information Technology Division introduced attendees some important information about Digital Testing; for example, how to prepare computers and equipment, login process, how to do the test, test submission and other suggestions.
