NIETS held a meeting in preparation for O-NET for grade 6 and 9 in the 2023 academic year.

On 28-29 June 2023, National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) organized a meeting to clarify a preparation for O-NET with digital testing for grade 6 and 9 students in the 2023 academic year. There were presidents of test centers and other representatives, attending this meeting via Zoom as following:
The 1st group attended the meeting on 28 June 2023 at 10.00 a.m.-12.00 p.m. The participants were Provincial Education Office, Provincial Office of Local Administration, Office of the Private Education from 5 provinces in the Southern of Thailand.
The 2nd group attended the meeting on 29 June 2023 at 10.00 a.m.-12.00 p.m. The participants were Primary Educational Service Area Office (Norther and Southern areas), Department of Education, Bureau of Education Pattaya, Office of the Private Education Commission and Office of the Basic Education Commission.
The 3rd group attended the meeting on 29 June 2023 at 2.00-4.00 p.m. The participant was Primary Educational Service Area Office (Northeastern, Central, Eastern).

NIETS Deputy Director (Warunee Liewwiwatchai, Ph.D.) delivered welcoming speech and talked about process of preparation for O-NET. The test schedule for grade 6 is on 10 February 2024 while the test schedule for grade 9 is 11 February 2024. Besides, NIETS thanked test centers and test fields for their cooperation so that the O-NET can be managed properly and smoothly. However, related units were reminded to follow work calendar and test guidelines strictly in order to arrange the O-NET align with the standard of national educational test.

Chief of Testing Administration and Center Network Division (Mr. Pattana Thanakorn) gave a brief overall picture of O-NET in the 2022 academic year and readiness for O-NET of grades 6 and 12 in the 2023 academic year. For this year, NIETS is going to pilot O-NET with digital testing for grades 6 and 12 for one test center in one test field. NIETS also invited schools, where they have available computers, joined this pilot. Moreover, work calendar, test arrangement, test center’s responsibilities, committees at the test fields, schedule of students’ detail submission and steps to held the test fields toward a system and important document related to the exam were described. Everyone had an opportunity to discuss issues, share ideas, ask some questions and give suggestions.
