National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) celebrated the 18th anniversary of institute establishment.

The 18th anniversary of institution organized by National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) or NIETS, under the theme of National Testing in the world’s disruptive technology era, which held on Monday 4th September, 2023 at The Berkeley Hotel, Pratunam Bangkok. In the event, there were the award ceremony which had the Guest of Honor, Doctor Kasem Wattanachai who was privy councilor and honorary Prof. This award presented to schools and students which had been verified as the “excellent” and “superb” developed level from the result of national education testing. Moreover, the online training program had been lunched in field of educational testing and evaluation instrument invention, with an additional session of academic seminar.

Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D., Director of NIETS announced the 3 objectives of existing event which were: 1) The people would be acknowledged and perceived the performance and achievement of NIETS 2) Roles and trends of NIETS’s mission in the future and 3) To glorify and commend to schools and students which have results of national education testing in “excellent” and “superb” level. In addition, there was the summary of NIETS’s important implementation in the past that applied technology for developing administrative management system such as the development of online system for subjective exam checking in Thai language subject for elemental grade 6 level. Including the development of training system for evaluated equipment creation, learning online classes, the result-tracking of O-NET application system, and online testing system for acquired knowledge. According to the development of evaluated and measured equipment, NIETS has created measuring instrument for the national education testing based on necessary performance of learner within main curriculum in the 21th century and also the improving format of the national education testing (O-NET, V-NET,     I-NET, N-NET and B-NET) from paper pencil to digital system.

Mr.Kittirat Manggalakeelee, the chairman of NIETS stated that the role and trend of NIETS in the past 18 years, their missions  has  been accomplished following in the royal decree of establishment and continuously forwarding manner of operation, including their services responding to social, economic and political context variation. NIETS has analyzed their performance in the past, present and future for the purpose of determined impelling trends by the 20-year strategic plan and 5-year (2023-2027) strategic plan. These will subtend the situation changings in evaluation and results measurement in disruptive technology period.

Furthermore, the academic seminar occurred in the topic of the national testing in the world of disruptive technology era. The experts attended to discussion were Prof.Ongart  Naipatana,Ph.D., the eminent expert in educational evaluation and measurement from Srinakharinwirot University and Asst. Prof. Panjai Thrantassanawongs, Ph.D., the eminent expert in information technology from Silpakorn University. The seminar’s quest speaker was Asst. Prof. Adisorn Naowanont, Ph.D., the president of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University.
