NIETS convened the second briefing meeting with exam centers for preparatory O-NET testing in grades 6 and 9 in the fiscal year 2023.

National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) held its second briefing meeting in the fiscal year 2023 with examination centers for the preparatory testing service of the Ordinary National Educational Test (O-NET) grades 6 and 9. It was an online meeting using the Zoom Cloud Meeting program on December 13 – 15 at NIETS meeting room 3501.

Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D, the director of National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) or NIETS gave a welcome speech and stated the preparation of O-NET testing management in the fiscal year 2023. The grade 6 examination will be held on Saturday, February 11 2024, and the grade 9 examination will be held on Sunday, February12 2024. For grade 12, there were 4 rounds of testing, which will be arranged: the 1 round on Saturday, February 24 2024, ; the 2 round on Sunday, February 25 2024, ; the 3 round on Saturday, March 2 2024,;  and the 4 round on Sunday, March 3 2024. She asked examination centers and center sites to strictly comply with the official testing standards of national education and the O-NET testing operation manual. In addition, she explained the testing results usage and gave some guidelines for results analysis in detail, learning standards, and indicators using      O-NET personal testing results and schooling level testing results, with six editions included and findings derived from subjective quiz checking. Furthermore, NIETS has an operating project to support the use of O-NET results as dynamic equipment to upgrade teaching and learning levels. This project focused on the knowledge - giving and practical operation of national testing results report information to create a development plan of teaching and learning for teachers, school executives, educational service area offices, or other organizations that are interested in joining this project, applicants can send application since December 1 – 31 2023. NIETS appreciated examination centers and examination sites operating completely in testing management for O-NET testing according to national education testing standards.

Chief of Testing Administration and Center Network Division (Mr. Pattana Thanakorn) mentioned activities related to testing which were, the pilot test of O-NET for grades 6 and 9 by the Digital Testing system, activities of examination center through December till the end of testing, operational testing management of examination center, testing arrangement in examination center, practical guidelines of testing, role and duties of examination center, in order to emphasize roles and responsibilities of examination center collaboration (before, during, after of testing), testing regulation monitoring, testing documents management, operation results report, follow up practical testing manual, testing regulations, and regulations of entering exam room administer. Moreover, NIETS advertised the opening application register for the Test of English Communication in the Workplace (TEC-W) and proficiency measurement and learning assessment in the occasional New Year 2024 and Teacher’s Day 2024. December 20 – 25, 2023, is the application period with free of charge. The examination day is January 11, 2024, and the testing results report on January 15, 2024.
