NIETS organized an explication meeting for O-NET coordination testing centers and examination halls at secondary level 6 in the fiscal year 2023.

National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) or NIETS managed an explication meeting for O-NET coordination testing centers and examination halls at secondary level 6 in the fiscal year 2023. There were coordination testing centers and examination halls, consisting of 62 Secondary Educational Service areas from examination halls nationwide. The online meeting was held on January 17 – 22, 2024, via the Zoom Cloud Meetings program, and committees at the examination hall level from each province joined in as follows:

• Group 1 on January 17, 2024, at 9.30 am. from Bangkok area 1 and area 2
• Group 2 on January 17, 2024, at 1.30 pm. from Nonthaburi, Pathumthani, Samutprakarn, Samutsakorn, Samutsongkram, Chachoengsao, Nakhonpathom, Ayutthaya.
• Group 3 on January 18, 2024, at 9.30 am. from Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Sakaeo, Prachinburi, Nakhonnayok, Lopburi, Saraburi,  Singburi, Angthong, Suphanburi, Nakhonsawan.
• Group 4 on January 18, 2024 at 1.30 pm. from Mahasarakham, Roi-et, Loei, Nongbualamphu, Buengkan, Buriram, Kalasin, Nongkhai, Udonthani, Khonkaen.
• Group 5 on January 19, 2024 at 9.30 am. from Sakonnakhon, Surin, Sisaket, Yasothorn, Nakhonphanom, Mukdahan, Ubonratchathani, Amnatcharoen,
• Group 6 on January 19, 2024 at 1.30 pm. from Nakhonratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Uthaithani, Chainat, Prachuapkhirikhan, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Tak, Kanjanaburi, Sukhothai, Kamphaengphet.
• Group 7 on January 22, 2024 at 9.30 am. from Chiangrai, Chiangmai, Nan, Phichit, Maehongson, Phetchabun, Phrae, Phayao, Lampang, Lamphun, Phitsanulok, Uttaradit.
• Group 8 on January 22, 2024 at 1.30 pm. from Suratthani, Chumphon, Songkhla, Satun, Phatthalung, Phangnga, Phuket, Ranong, Trang, Krabi, Narathiwat, Nakhonsrithammarat, Yala, Pattani.

Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D, the director of NIETS assigned Warunee  Liewwiwatchai, Ph.D. deputy director, gave a greeting welcome to all participants, along with the Chief of Testing Administration and Center Network Division (Mr. Pattana Thanakorn) stated the preparation of Ordinary National Educational Test, or O-NET, for secondary level 6 by the digital testing system in the fiscal year 2023. There were issues in this meeting consisting of testing procedure management by digital testing system, duties and working processes in the examination hall (before, during, and after testing), and operational guidelines by cases. Moreover, NIETS organized the O-NET by digital testing system manual for secondary level 6 and O-NET operational testing system manual in electronic file format. All testing committees at examination hall level were reminded to download manuals and consider the operational process on the NIETS official website, www.niets.or.th. In addition, O-NET (Digital Testing) for secondary level 6 in the fiscal year 2023 was designed to schedule 4 rounds on Saturday and Sunday, consisting of the first round on February 24, 2024, the second round on February 25, 2024, the third round on March 2, 2024, and the fourth round on March 3, 2024.

The testing academician (Ms. Wassana Prasongngam) advised exam documentary usages and explained categories of exam documents such as documents for examination halls, materials for attaching on board, papers used for testing participants, papers used with cooperation centers, document management procedures for examination halls before testing, during testing, and on the last day of testing, including printing and delivery formality testing in the testing management system.

The Computer Technical Officer from the Information and Technology Division (Mr. Jirawit Temram) recommended the preparation for the digital testing system, such as providing a computer set and related equipment, system accession, the way to do an exam in system, the testing form delivery, and providing advice according to the overall testing. The last session was opened for all participants to have discussions, inquiries, and suggestions.
