NIETS organized an explanatory meeting for the committee at the examination hall level of O-NET for elementary level 6 and secondary level 3 using a digital testing system.

On January 25, 2024, National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) or NIETS managed an online explication meeting via the Zoom Cloud Meetings program for         the O-NET committee at the examination hall level for elementary level 6 and secondary level 3 using a digital testing system in the fiscal year 2023. There were coordination testing centers for O-NET at elementary level 6 and secondary level 3 as pilot testing from the Provincial Education Office, Primary Educational Service Area Office, Secondary Educational Service Area Office, and Department of Education Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, along with the committee at the examination level for O-NET at elementary level 6 in 67 sites and O-NET at secondary level 3 in 185 sites who participated in this meeting.

Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D, the director of NIETS assigned Warunee  Liewwiwatchai, Ph.D. deputy director, to give a greeting welcome and thanks for the coordination testing centers that are using pilot testing of O-NET via a digital testing system in order to conduct further improvements guidelines and examination hall expansion using the digital testing system at the elementary level 6 and secondary level 3.

Chief of Testing Administration and Center Network Division (Mr. Pattana Thanakorn) stated the preparation of an O-NET pilot test for elementary level 6 and secondary level 3 using a digital testing system. Then, he explained the digital system used in testing management, the roles and duties and procedures of testing operations in the examination hall, the documentary usage, the categories of testing, and the procedures of printing and delivery testing documents in testing management system. Moreover, NIETS has already prepared an O-NET digital testing operational manual, and a testing system utility manual in the form of electronic files. Therefore, the committees at the examination hall level need to download these files for learning the procedures of testing operations via NIETS’s official website, www.niets.or.th.

The Computer Technical Officer from the Information and Technology Division (Mr. Jirawit Temram) recommended preparation for the digital testing system, such as providing a computer set and related equipment, system accession, the way to do an exam in the system, the testing form delivery, and providing advice according to the overall testing.
