On Saturday, February 3, 2024, National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) or NIETS arranged the Buddhist National Educational Test (B-NET) using a digital testing system in the fiscal year 2023. It aimed to test the ecclesiastical scripture of Phra Pariyatdhamma according to the general Buddhist education in four subjects, which consisting of (1) Pali language, (2) Dharma, (3) History of Buddha, and (4) Vinaya. The results of the test could be applied for quality improvement of learning and teaching in education units and for assessment the knowledge of students at the national level, among other purposes for each agency. Meanwhile, NIETS derived collaboration from the Office of the General Buddhist Education in areas 1 – 12 as the coordinated testing centers for the 12 areas.

This year, the B-NET had testing applicants totaling 7,631 persons, which were divided as follows:

  • Secondary level, 4,800 persons
  • High school level, 2,831 persons

NIETS will announce the results of B-NET testing on February 29, 2024, on its official website, www.niets.or.th

The advantages of taking the B-NET examination are the usage of Buddhist educational testing results used for comparing educational quality at multiple levels and applied to planning educational management improvement, in addition, the information supports to decision-making in educational policy management procedures.
