NIETS organized the Test of English Communication in the Workplace: TEC-W on April 2024, at NIETS examination hall.

On April 25, 2024, National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) organized the Test of English Communication in the Workplace: TEC-W using a digital testing system on April 2024 at NIETS examination hall (on the 35^th floor of Phayathai Plaza building, in the E-Testing room).

TEC-W is the English language proficiency for communication in the workplace testing that conforms to the standards criteria of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or CEFR, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This testing was served to students, teachers, educational officers, private company employees, and interested people who were required to test their English language competency. According to the guidelines for English language competency development in Thailand, the Ministry of Education announced plans to use the standards of English language competency based on the CEFR framework and to be a target for students quality development. At present, this standard is acknowledged as the ranking of English language competency for individuals at the international level. Moreover, NIETS had a platform for studying the TEC-W test via an online system (Click for entering the digital testing system of NIETS), which led students and interested people to learn by themselves anywhere and anytime with no expense, according to the Minister of Education’s policy (Police General Permpoon Chidchob).

The advantages of taking TEC-W test were that the testers knew their score in English for communication in the workplace, and could apply for recruitment qualifications in business enterprises or for an extra remuneration consideration according to official recruiting regulations in those organizations. Besides, it could be applied to support English communication skills development and determine a national policy for personnel’s capacity improvement, thereby advancing the economy and enhancing competitiveness. NIETS will announce testing results on April 26, 2024, on its official website, www.niets.or.th. The testing result report will be valid for 2 years from the day the exam results are announced.
