The Minister of Education (Police General Permpoon Chidchob) transferred policies to the board of directors of NIETS as “the new era of NIETS, think outside the box, accentuate proactive working.”

On May 27, 2024, the Minister of Education (Police General Permpoon Chidchob) gave policies for the board of directors of the National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization), or NIETS, led by the Chairman of the Board (Mr. Thienchai Na Nakorn) and the members of boards of NIETS. Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D, the director of NIETS stated the report of the operational results refers to missions that conform to the main emphasis and policies of the Ministry of Education in order to drive Thailand’s educational development, consisting of “reducing the burdens of students and their parents,” “applicable studying anywhere and anytime (Anywhere, Anytime)” “Decreasing the inequality of education” at the Ratchawanlop meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Ministry of Education.
The Minister of Education (Police General Permpoon Chidchob) conveyed policies to the members of the board of directors for reviewing their authorities and operational objectives with missions and responsibilities via the concept of thinking outside the box and accentuate proactive working in order to build collaborations from other unites in the educational testing field for elevating research works and qualities of educational testing development. However, he believed that NIETS in the new era would assist educational development work, the transformation of NIETS would improve the testing procedure, and approach research and development practices for integrating co-working with other units and reaching a higher quality level of educational testing development.
The chairman of the board (Mr. Thienchai Na Nakorn) addressed that NIETS has adjusted roles and duties from operational missions by analyzing operational procedures in each dimension and the testing examination halls in each subordination, including schools under the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Culture, the Royal Thai Police, and the Ministry of Interior, in order to define policies for working toward their purposes.
The director of NIETS (Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D) stated that, NIETS had 8 key projects in the fiscal year 2024, in accordance with the main emphasis and policies of the Minister of Education (Police General Permpoon Chidchob). Furthermore, there were educational learning service platforms with no charge of service according to the concept of “Anywhere, Anytime,” consisting of (1) the online testing system for learning improvement. (2) the training system for building instruments for measuring and evaluating learning results from online lessons for making exams via the National Digital Testing Platform in 17 forms. (3) the system for subjective testing made via digital means online. (4) disperse the examination of O-NET for every level, every subject in order to support students, teachers, and educational staff in studying and planning the quality development of teaching and learning., including the upgrading of studying achievement results. NIETS encouraged the utilization of O-NET testing results for quality development of teaching and learning management by setting up both online and onsite trainings for the executive board of educational institutes, teachers, and educational staff nationwide. The workshop focused on teaching knowledge, assisted thinking and testing blueprint analysis, examination analysis, quality building for examinations, and information applied from O-NET testing results for consideration of study plans, teaching and learning improvement, and educational quality upgrade.
After policy assignment, there was a co-meeting between the NIETS committee and the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC). It aimed to develop and enhance the Public Organization. The Deputy Secretary General of OPDC (Ms. Wiriya Netnoi) and team discussed an important issues about the overview of public organizations in order to exchange ideas related to organization development and relationship building among committees for effective working collaboration.
