NIETS held an online explication meeting with O-NET examination centers for preparatory O-NET testing at secondary school levels 3 and 6 in the academic year 2024.

On December 17, 2024, the National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization), or NIETS, organized an online explication meeting of the Ordinary National Educational Test, or O-NET, at secondary school levels 3 and 6 in the academic year 2024, attended by units of examination centers and relevant agencies consisting of the Secondary Educational Service Area Office at 62 locations nationwide.

Asst. Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D, the director of NIETS assigned the deputy director (Warunee  Liewwiwatchai, Ph.D) to give the warm welcome speech for all participants and mention about O-NET testing and its preparatory procedures in the academic year 2024. The testing schedule for secondary school level 3 starts on Sunday, February 2, 2025, and level 6 on February 22-23, 2025 (use the digital testing system) and on March 1 – 2, 2025 (divided into 4 rounds). NIETS requires examination centers and examination halls to strictly comply with the national testing regulations and handbooks.

The chief of testing administration and center network division (Mr.Pattana Thanakorn) explained the O-NET testing organization and activities at examination center level, their roles and responsibilities, and the collaborative operation among NIETS, examination centers, and examination halls. He also emphasized duties of committees at examination hall level for operating the testing using both the paper pencil and the digital testing formats including the results report after testing finish. There were other issues related to the O-NET testing management for compounding neutral testing and conforming the national testing standards. NIETS will announce the list of eligible test takers on January 5, 2025. Schools/students are requested to check the testing information, locations, and readiness before the O-NET testing.
