The Minister of Education visited the O-NET examination hall for Grade 12 students in the academic year 2024 at Sarawittaya school.

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the Minister of Education (Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob), the Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), (Acting Sub Lt. Thanu Wongjinda), the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Education (Mr.Pichet Phothiphakdi), the Director of National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) (Asst.Prof. Sirida Burachat, Ph.D,), the Director of the Secondary Educational Service Area Office for Bangkok area 2 (Mrs.Naphaphorn Phongkhan) and the team inspected the examination hall of the Ordinary National Education Test (O-NET) for Grade 12, in the academic year 2024 at Sarawittaya school and got a warm welcome from the school’s director (Mr. Narodom Narinram) and teachers.

The O-NET test for Grade 12 students in the academic year 2024 will be held on February 22-23 and March 1–2, 2025. The test has 4 rounds; each one has 5 subjects: (1) Thai language, (2) English language, (3) Mathematics, (4) Science, and (5) Social Studies. The test will be held in both digital testing and paper-pencil formats for examination halls with limitations of computer equipment and internet network systems.
This year, there are a total of 282,309 eligible students, with 1,974 examination halls and 4,675 rooms, classified as follows:
1. Digital testing-based: there are 276,624 eligible students, as follows:
Round 1: Saturday, February 22, 2025: 74,695 students
Round 2: Sunday, February 23, 2025: 70,407 students
Round 3: Saturday, March 1, 2025: 68,830 students
Round 4: Sunday, March 2, 2025: 62,692 students
2. Paper Pencil-based: 3 examination halls and 5,685 students

NIETS has implemented its missions in line with the focus of the Ministry of Education and the policies of the Minister of Education (Pol. Gen. Phrompoom Chidchob) and the Deputy Minister of Education (Mr. Surasak Phancharoenworakul) to promote learners to learn “Anywhere Anytime” and “Be Knowing Smart, Thinking Smart, Acting Smart, and Creating a Lifelong Learning Society.”
NIETS supported learners to learn anywhere and anytime (Anywhere Anytime) by creating modern learning-promoting platforms: (1) an online testing system for learning development for testing knowledge, analytical thinking skills, and problem-solving to identify strengths and focal points that need to be developed and to design a learning plan in the future; (2) the training system for creating learning measurement and assessment tools with online lessons for creating 17 types of tests on the national digital testing platform system for trainees to apply to classroom measurement and assessment; (3) an online subjective test marking system under the national educational testing standards.
NIETS organized activities to promote and support school administrators, teachers, and educational personnel to use the O-NET test results for improving the quality of schooling management by organizing training in both online and onsite formats, emphasizing knowledge, thinking clues, and analyzing test construction diagrams, test analysis, creating quality exams, and using information from the national educational test results report to plan for schooling management development and raise the education quality.
Lastly, NIETS would like to express its gratitude to the Minister of Education (Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob) for honoring us by presiding over the inspection of the O-NET examination hall. We would also like to thank all affiliated agencies, examination centers, examination halls, and all relevant parties for their cooperation in conducting the national educational testing in accordance with the national educational testing standards.
