NIETS does not have a policy of using O-NET testing scores for ranking school levels.

Regarding the content of the O-NET testing scores usage exposed recently to various online media and websites such as “The top 10 of ranking schools from the highest O-NET result total scores in the country,” the National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization), or NIETS, confirms that those content and text relevance are not information generated and affirmed from NIETS.

According to NIETS missions are educational public services concerned with studies, research, development, testing, and assessment services. Therefore, NIETS pursues our missions and academic standards in order to have proper information for organizations or agencies to use for their official tasks directly. The NIETS information presented an average score and classified it by subject of individual student, school levels, area, province, region, affiliation, and overview of the country level. This information can be applied for diversity utilizations, for example, learning skill development for students, teaching and learning management plans of institutes, and educational policy determination. However, the testing score usage must be used carefully to prevent misunderstandings, and individual information impacts may occur.
