NIETS Calls for a meetings for O-NET of academic year 2018 for Primary and Secondary Levels in Khon Kaen Province.

            The National Institute of Educational Testing Service (Public Organization) hosted a meeting on Friday 3^rd August 2018, concerning O-NET examination of 2018 academic year at Charoenthani Hotel, Khon Kaen Province. More than attendees from Provincial Educational Service Area Office, Primary and Secondary Educational Service Area Office, participated in the program which consist of Director and representatives from 5 Province of Northeast; Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakha, Roi Et, and Chaiyaphum Province

            Associate Professor Dr. Samphan Phanpruk, the director of NIETS, presided over the meetings and spoke on the standardization of O-NET. He emphasized on strictly enforcing rules and regulations as well as conducting oneself according to the manual of administering national examination to prevent any controversy of testing administration. Following the instruction in the manual would increase the public confidence toward the organization (transparency), and standard should be held the same throughout all testing centers especially, performing of invigilate staffs which NIETS also sent representatives to in each testing centers for supervising in testing administering.

            In addition, NIETS publicized the analysis result of examination quality in order to can take O-NET score to improve and to develop the method of learning and teaching as well as educational quality assurance by presenting score report to related agencies to be useful information for improvement in each educational service area.

            In fiscal year 2018, NIETS is implementing about personnel development training in providing testing in forms of E-testing by surveying opinion of testing centers in curriculum issues or other comments about this project include feedbacks. The participants will receive certificate after finished training. In addition, NIETS provided the 2^nd teacher performance testing in academic year 2018, aimed to evaluate teachers' ability in terms of evaluation and assessment knowledge and skills, which the schedule for testing date will be on 25 August 2018 at 10 -12 am.             In the meeting, Dr.Warunee Liewwiwatchai, Deputy Director, also announced the plan of
O-NET for the academic year 2018. The schedule of O-NET test period for primary school and secondary school will be on 1 July – 30 September 2018 in preparing testing center. And she reemphasized all staff administering the test is to strictly follow the rule and regulation in the manual.

            Mr. Patana Thanakorn, Head of Testing Administration Department, gave an overview of last year administration of O-NET which result implementation was satisfied. He also announced that schools and educational institutes should recheck graduating student names of each academic year before sending completed list to NIETS on deadline date 31 August 2018.  For Grade 6 and 9, testing registration during on 1-15 October 2018 and for Grade 12, will be during on 1-15 November 2018.
